The JWs are the kings of name calling spoiled brats. Remember the phrase, religion is a snare and a racket? Look at their resolutions and the name calling techniques they've used to smear the religions and governments of the world. You in your short-sighted ignorance seek to defend them. I think you need a history lesson as well as an education.

Did you ever preach door to door on a Christmas day?

i don't know if it's only our congregation or every congregation was the same, but no door to door was organized on christmas day.
that was the only day of the year that the jw's in our area wouldn't go pest people.. wonder why?

YEPPY, I did! Yes, it was the Greatest Man Book, as well as, the Christmas(anti Christmas)WT/Awake. Usually, the congregations in our area (Utah) would all get together and hit the ski slopes. I'm sure the ski resort at Snow Basin loved us, because we were the only ones there, except for a few 'WORLDLY' ones, I'm sure these poor skiers were bombarded with TRUTH. I was very zealous. I look back now and think how we probably ruined their Christmas family outing. If Christmas fell on a meeting day----------well attendance was down.

There's an old coyote-roadrunner cartoon that shows the coyote going to use the old kicking boot on himself for doing something stupid. The longer I'm away from the JWs the more I feel like the coyote. How could I have ever been so stupid? I guess being born into it is some excuse. One of my dear old friends, now 83, tells me I have an excuse. He's really mad at himself since he became a convert in his 40's and stayed until he was 78. He says he can't believe he fell for the crap. At least he's out and he loves every minute of his freedom as I do. Welcome to the board.

the path my life took ended up with me being a single parent of 4 children.. the jws led me down the path of the "truth".
my grandmother disowned me and i just couldnt understand why.i was told that satan was lurking round every corner trying to get me away from god.

I sure am glad you figured it out in just 3 years because I was raised from infancy is this mess and lost 49 years of good living. My advice is don't make the same mistake twice. If its so important to believe something a certain way, don't you think a loving God would spell it out clearly for all the world to see, leaving no soul in doubt? Take a good look in your mind and heart and maybe God is right there. Love is God, no judgementalism, no one right religion, just love. To me that's a simple answer with a good starting and finishing point.

My answer is different from what most have posted. First of all, the FDS has made some BS answer to every Bible verse. If you're in their little box, it doesn't matter what they say, with your blinders on you can accept anything. I have helped over 20 out of this mess, and my most successful avenue has been logically dismanteling the Bible. I also attack the logic of the Genesis account, the Adam and Eve story, man being born in sin, the insane actions of a loving God, the need of a ransomer, the history of the world's saviours and their relation to Jesus, the validity of the Jesus story, the history of the early church, and the downfall of christianity as a whole. These subjects and the subsequent research point out the flaws in all christian religions without pointing your finger just at the witnesses. Just think about the statement you made about God saving you from the JW clutches while letting your poor brother fall victim. Do you think a loving God is at work in christianity to let this happen. A God who requires blood sacrifices to appease his anger is capable of anything. A vengeful God who lets his ego control his emotions is capable of killing all mankind because he's pissed off that Adam and Eve found out what was good and bad. This is the beginning of the BS story that leads to the rest of the BS stories all christianity is based upon. This is just a taste of hard logic and I've seen it work. My question is, are you willing to investigate this kind of logic?

Look up the meaning for shortly in Hebrew. He was also exalted to a superior position by his father as head of the christian congregation. Now here's something to ponder. Supposedly in the account of Acts 5 Ananias and Sapphira sold a field and lied to Peter about the amount donated. Because of their lies they both fell dead. Now that was power, nobody could get away with even lying to Peter about their donations, so do you think a child molester stood a chance in that congregation. The church claims that was a demonstration of the holy spirit helper from Jesus in action. What happened to the spirit and the power? If Jesus is head of the church as religion claims then why do we have priest child molesters, murders of innocent people such as those classified as heretics and so forth during the dark ages? Then we have the crusades where the cross and claims of Jesus leadership led to the rape, murder and robbery of non-christian people on a vast scale. If I was in charge of a government or business that did things like this using my name and I had the power to stop it and didn't, then I could be legally tried for crimes against humanity. Is it any wonder a Muslim thinks it's a good thing to kill a christian? If the salvation of all mankind rests in them bending their knee to Jesus, and a great number of mankind has been offended and injured by representatives carrying his name, then whose at fault for their damnation. It's like standing by and watching a murder when you have the power to stop it. It's like saying your're damned because I screwed you over. Where's that Jesus love and justice? Think about this. The JWs and all the current last-dayers time predictions are just as accurate as the so-called saviour and leader was for the first century christian. Christian religions today can do and claim anything they want, tell all the lies they want, defraud their members in Jesus name, disallow life saving blood transfusions in his name and he won't do a damn thing about it. I think that's grounds for a law suit, don't you?

It's far from negative and I do lean on my own understanding. If it looks like crap, smells like crap, steams like crap, and you've got a cow standing over it with it's tail raised, then my understanding is that I'm looking at crap. It don't take a genius to figure that out or God either.

Did God create good and evil?

Think about Cain, who caused the jealousy to erupt between brothers just because God wanted some blood instead of vegetables?
If you believe the Bible and look take it for what it says, then we're all in deep crap if we believe in this kind of a God. He's acts just like a spoiled kid with an ant farm. -

A friend of mine showed me as interesting scripture, Ex. 4:24 that talks about Jehovah showing up in person to kill Moses, but was talked out of it by Moses' wife because from what the Bible says she circumcised her son and threw the foreskin at his feet. She then called him a blood-smeared bridegroom, referring to the circumcision and the Lord left him alone. You can't hardly make any sense out of the whole story because it says she circumcised her son and then it alludes to Moses being the one circumcised. Besides all that jibberish, the point I'm getting to is that in the previous verses Jehovah chose Moses to represent him before Pharoah even showing him the staff into the snake trick. Jehovah also gets him a helper, his brother Aaron and sends him down to Egypt. I guess in all the scurry of events Jehovah forgot Moses had a foreskin, which he remembers later and decides I got to kill this unclean dude. Jehovah doesn't tell him what's wrong, but seeks to kill him. Now Moses' wife is smarter than Jehovah's appointed representative, whips out the flint and the foreskin flies. Jehovah is appeased. I never could understand that foreskin thing, I mean we were made with it, I guess Adam had one, so if Jehovah doesn't like it, he should be pissed at himself for giving us one. I guess that foreskin thing has just driven him crazy. I guess when God sees a foreskin its like a bull seeing red, he just wants to kill, kill, kill.
People in society with problems like this are classified as mentally unstable. They are usually scooped up by the men in little white suits. I think he at least needs an anger management class. How do you feel? -

The Who's Who of Saviours, Here's Three, You Tell Me?

saviour#2 who was born of a virgin mother on dec. 25th and his father was a carpenter, a star marked his birthplace and angels and shepherds were attending, the ruler slaughtered infants in order to kill him, but he survived to heal the sick, lepers, blind and deaf, dying about the age of 30 being crucified on a tree, portrayed on a cross, rose from the dead, considered the saviour, followers knew him as jezeus (which means pure essence) and it is said he will return on a white horse to judge the dead and fight the prince of evil?
saviour#3 who was born to a virgin mother on dec 25th, put in a manger in swadling clothes, became a traveling teacher performing miracles, turning water into wine, rode in triumph on an ass, became known as the lamb of god, god of the vine, god of gods, king of kings, only begotten son, bearer of sins, redeemer, anointed one (christos), alpha and omega, hung and crucified on a tree and rose from the dead on mar.
